In February 2026, OMIS completed the modernization project for the flue gas desulfurization (FGD) system at a hard coal-fired power plant in Saarland, Germany. Over the period of nine months, our team carried out complex works—ranging from the preparation of shop drawings, through the production, disassembly, and installation of new components, to the insulation of the entire system. One of the key—and most demanding—stages of the project was lining the surfaces with Alloy 59, a material characterized by high corrosion resistance. This scope required advanced welding expertise, high precision, and careful preparation and coordination of the installation work carried out inside the unit. At the peak of the project, a team of over 30 people was working on-site. This is the latest OMIS project supporting energy production while meeting environmentally friendly requirements.
