OMIS and the Institute of Power Engineering (IEN-PIB) are modernizing Boiler No. 3 at the Ostrołęka B Power Plant

We are proud to announce that OMIS, in cooperation with the Institute of Power Engineering in Warsaw (IEN-PIB), is carrying out the modernization of Boiler No. 3 at the Ostrołęka B Power Plant, owned by the Energa Group, a part of the ORLEN Group. The goal of the modernization is to increase the share of biomass in combustion to 50% of the energy mix (currently 30%), which will significantly reduce CO₂ emissions — to below 550 g CO₂/kWh. The work includes, among other things, adapting the air distribution systems and modifying the boiler's control and measurement systems. The modernization will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025, ensuring full compliance with European electricity market requirements. This project is crucial for the energy security of northeastern Poland, supporting the stability of the National Power System. We are delighted to be part of such a strategic undertaking for Poland’s energy transformation.
